Contacting conservation bodies. Today, with the widespread concerns about the future of the countryside, mineral operators are taking great care to minimise the impact of their operations on the rural environment and local communities. Most have environmental codes of practice and liaise with local authorities aiming to ensure that the operations are as acceptable as possible in these sensitive areas. These codes of practice are often imposed by the local authority when planning permission is granted. Inevitably though, conflicting views prevail about many of these issues. That said by providing these links we encourage you to inform, enquire or otherwise engage with as many of the conservation bodies as possible.
